Hello Kolmal Madam,
Alok this side. I am 55 yrs old, height 5' 10", weight 78-79. Till last yr my weight was 75-76 kg. The weight has increased 2- kg in last few months.
I was prediabetic for last few years with HBA1C around 64-6.5. This January my HBA1C was 6.9 and yesterday it was test to be 7.4. BP has also increased to 97-152. ECG was found to be normal.
I need to reverse my diabetes, and I am confident I can do it. I have decided to stop carb at night totally, will do exercise twice daily, and sleep daily for at least 7 hrs. Are these steps sufficient?
I sincerely need your advise.
Regards
Ans: I am happy to hear that you’re motivated to take control of your health! Your plan to cut carbs at night, exercise twice daily, and ensure adequate sleep are excellent steps. However, there are some additional strategies that might help you control your diabetes and improve your overall health. Focus on whole foods like vegetables, fruits, lean proteins, and whole grains. Avoid processed foods and sugary drinks and reduce carbohydrate intake. Incorporate healthy fats like avocados, nuts, and olive oil in your diet. Weight management should be a priority. Focus on losing fat percentage and increasing muscle mass by avoiding refined foods and following strength training exercises. Even a modest weight loss of 5-10% of your body weight can significantly improve blood sugar levels. Stay well hydrated and monitor your progress with the help of your doctor or a qualified dietician.
