Dear Maam
I am diabetic since 8 years and now the sugar level is under control now after one year. My age 64 yrs. I walk daily 50 minutes. The doctor has restricted milk and milk products intake due to my gastric problem. I use milk powder for tea.
Is milk powder safe? Can a diabetic eat peanut, coconut and gram flour.
I don't consume sugar and potato and maida products but eat sweets very rarely(once or twice a month). Sometimes i eat brown bread.
Is it ok or i should avoid all these completely.
Pl guide
With regards
Ans: Powdered milk can be a suitable option for diabetics, especially if it’s a diabetes-friendly milk powder. Peanuts are rich in protein, which helps stabilize blood sugar levels but have in moderation due to their calorie content. Coconut flour is high in fiber, slowing down sugar absorption, although have in moderation. Chickpea flour is protein-rich, supporting blood sugar control. Make sure portion control and balanced meals are essential. Having sweets, brown bread in small portion sizes can be acceptable, especially if you manage your overall carbohydrate intake and monitor your blood sugar levels.
