Relationship

Thanks for sparing some Time to Answer my Question, Anu Ma'am... Now my Husband has returned from Thailand after Enjoying his 'Solo Honeymoon'. Now he seems quite changed. He seems to have enjoyed some of the Best Days of his Life, during his Solo Honeymoon in Thailand. He has openly admitted (without any Guilt or Shame) that he had just let go of his Inhibitions & enjoyed having lots of Sex with several Women, over the week. Since his Teens, he had many Sexual Fantasies, which he said that he'd been saving to Enjoy along with his Life Partner, but after getting disappointed due to my Lack of Virginity, he went on to Fulfill all his Sexual Fantasies by 'Hiring' different Women, spending lots of Money on them. He doesn't feel that he has Cheated on me. He says that he did all that to 'Learn & Practice' the 'Art of Love-making' I'm order to give me Sexual Pleasure & Satisfaction. He was Under-confident that he may not be able to satisfy me as I had a lot of Sexual Experience, while he was a Virgin, when we got Married. Now he feels that we both are 'Even' and he's Willing to "Forgive & Forget the Past" & work on our Marriage, if I'm also willing to, otherwise, he has no problem with going for a Divorce. Now, the Ball is in my Court & I'm in Dilemma, whether I should Accept his 'Tit for Tat' Attitude & go ahead with working on our Marriage, Believing that we both are Even now? I am still afraid of the Familial, Societal, Legal & Financial consequences, which would arise, in case of Divorce. In this situation what, do you think, is a better option? Reconciliation or Separation? (P.S: He got himself Tested & fortunately, he has not been infected with any Sexually Transmitted Diseases, as he'd always taken Care to use Protection, even while engaging in his Wildest Sexual Fantasies)

Ans: Dear Anonymous,
You seem to want me to give you an answer that you want to hear. Let me ask you this...if the same situation happened wto your bestie, what would you suggest to her?
Your husband's belief that all virgins bleed on the first night and that not happening and then his revenge sex on his trip...what is all this? A circus, drama?
You need to decide what kind of life you want to lead and if this person fits into that picture. The decision is yours; just think of the sequence of events and how this has affected you. As a mature person and your husband, what else could he have done to actually sort this issue out? You have a lot of thinking to do...

All the best!

Relationship
Hi Anu Mam, I am married for 4 and half years now and have a 3 YO daughter. It was an arranged marriage and the families were not familiar before. My husband started behaving very rude to me since my delivery. He verbally abused me a lot and finally I felt something was not right and opened up to my parents, that I cannot live with him, after 3 years of the marriage. My parents supported me and took care of my daughter and me for a year, after which my husband's family convinced me to move back in with him. When I came back to him I realised he has been cheating on me with his colleague since before my delivery. When I probed the issue further, without his knowledge, I got to know that he was a polygamous person for 10 years before marriage. And this shook me. I also got to know he is meeting one of his female friends after work hours, lying to me. He used to lie to me that he's going out for work and talk to his other female friend on phone for an hour or so, once every 2-3 days.He watches porn every day.I slowly realised he was just exploiting me for his physical needs. Our relationship turned cold within 3 months of restarting it.I was not happy being with him. I knew he was still cheating me, but he never obliged when I confronted.I could not let him even touch me.Finally, out of his frustration, he physically attacked me in front of our daughter, tried to strangulate my throat, but by god's grace I could save myself. That day, 30th of August 2021, I left that place with my daughter and came back to my parents.I filled a domestic harassment complaint against him, for which we're attending counselling sessions now.I cannot think of a life with him anymore.I have made up my mind to file an FIR against him soon.I must say I'm at peace now.But I still have a lot of anguish whenever those thoughts cross my mind. Is there a way where I can make peace with my past?
Ans:

Dear VT,

Physical abuse is an absolute NO and so is emotional abuse. I am glad that you have decided to end this misery for yourself and your daughter.

Please proceed with the FIR and also seek help on filing divorce if that is something that you have considered.

On the emotional part of it, it will take a toll on you and your health as you are unprepared at this moment. So start by:

1. Visualizing your life without him by your side

2. Working out granular details like finances and where you will live

3. Chalking out a plan of how your daughter will be cared for if you choose to start working

4. Listing down which close family member will be by your side (emotionally) always

As daunting as this may seem, it is possible to be in a space of strength which you already have experienced and move ahead to a better life.

And as you do this, do remember that you are important, so take care of your thoughts and feelings as well.

  • Spend time in Nature observing and appreciating
  • Surround yourself with people and friends who care and love you unconditionally
  • Exercise and eat well
  • Pamper yourself by caring for your physical appearances
  • Do what you love every day at least for 30 minutes

Situations maybe tough to handle but building strength within at the right time is what is the need of the hour.
I wish you the best in life always.

Relationship
Dear Anu, I would like to discuss about a problem in my married life with you. Me and my husband had a love marriage 21 years ago. Before our marriage also my husband had many relationships and affairs but since he was very true about everything and he promised to change things, we married. Though, our family was a happy one and we have two grown up kids also, everything seems OK from outside. But actually, my husband has had many affairs after our marriage also. He has never left his habit of impressing females around him, it may be his colleagues or some common friends etc.. and I always come across some or the other female in his life. Some of the affairs have been so serious that they even went ahead and spent days and nights together. Every time, I discover some affair, he admits his mistake and tells me to move on, but he never believes in correcting his mistakes and either continues with the affair or finds a new partner. I have lost all trust in him but since I am not earning and have two grown up kids and also love him a lot, can't think of separation. I have tried confronting him though but he gets angry always and blames me for spoiling our family life and not moving on. Also, would like to accept that he is very supportive in family matters, loves his family a lot, is very dedicated to his work and to his kids, he is very empathetic towards people, helps everyone but needs his own space too. I am completely confused about what should I do. I am unable to trust him for anything and we keep arguing over smallest things. Hope you will reply to me. Thanks.
Ans: Dear TT, I can only imagine what you must be going through.

Since you want to continue in the marriage, that choice is something I presume that has emerged after a lot of thought and I respect it.

The way this marriage will work is communicate clearly to him that his philandering ways have to stop as it is affecting you and the marriage.

If this doesn’t work, he seriously needs help in dealing with this…sometimes people don’t realise that they are jeopardizing their marriages.

I am not defending him but simply stating that sometimes people get themselves into a trap of not so useful situations and quite don’t know how to get out of it.

Also, what he might gain from so many extra marital relationships is something that he needs to find in other ways rather than swaying outside of the marriage.

This requires him to work with an expert as he will most likely not yield to your requests like in the past. Mere talking will not be enough; he possibly needs intensive therapy.

This will help him reunite with his family that he loves so much and he can be around completely without having to seek pleasure outside eroding the foundation of marriage.

As he seems to get better, it’s time for you to live your life as well, right?

What is it that you haven’t done in years? What is it that you gave up after marriage or after having kids?

What excites you enough for you to step up for yourself and create your own happiness? Simply DO THAT.

This will help you get back on your feet; who knows you might discover something that actually may end up becoming a money generator as well!

I wish you the best!

Relationship
My Husband had recently gone for a Business Trip to Thailand, along with his Colleagues. After he returned, accidentally, I found out some Reports of STD Tests (Thankfully, Negative). But when I interrogated his Colleagues (without my Husband's knowledge), I found out some shocking things. When in Thailand, my Husband & his Male Colleagues had Partied like Bachelors going to Beaches, Massage Parlours, Bars, Pubs & even Strip Clubs, indulging in many Sexual Encounters, to fulfill their kinky fantasies. I was crying when I confronted my Husband about this. He doesn't even seem to feel any Guilt & casually admitted that he was just 'enjoying' for some days. But he promised that he wouldn't do it again, if it is Hurting me. My Husband has a Huge Appetite for Sex & we both used to enjoy a blissful Sex Life for a couple of years after our Marriage, until my Pregnancy. I understand that he might have been Sexually Frustrated while my Body was not available to Sexually entertain him, during the course of Pregnancy & soon after Childbirth. But I never expected that he would resort to something so Dirty, just to satisfy his carnal urges. Should this be counted as 'Cheating' or not? He doesn't even feel that he'd 'Cheated' on me & he's also trying to convince me that this isn't really 'Cheating'. We are New Parents of a Toddler Boy & I'm completely dependent upon him for a while, this is the Main Reason, which is preventing me from Divorcing him, otherwise, I wouldn't tolerate something like this. Now I don't understand how to proceed with the Marriage, without Divorcing him. How can I prevent him from doing it again & again? Shall I expose his philanderous acts in front of both our Families & Humiliate him? Or shall I keep this to myself & use this as a Bargaining Chip, to emotionally blackmail & manipulate him, in the future, to make him do something for me, which he wouldn't have done, otherwise? Or, is there any other way ahead? At present, my Toddler Son is my Priority & I don't want him to suffer unnecessarily, due to no fault of his. Please advise me.
Ans: Dear Anonymous,
It's obvious that as a mother you are looking out for your own interests and that of you baby and rightly so...
Many couples face this distance with the arrival of a new born with the mother completely involved in raising the child and the father thinking that his part was over when he got the wife pregnant.
Immature men use that distance to pleasure themselves elsewhere rather than use the time to be of help to the wife and bond with the new born. Your husband is enjoying this distance between the two of you as new found freedom and hence he finds it convenient to declare that it's not cheating etc etc.
No matter how much you are going to appeal to him, he seems to have convinced himself that he is in the right. Now is the time to actually work on bringing him back (of course, if you wish that the marriage works). Find some time for the two of you, go on date nights, basically it's about dating and making him realize that you and the marriage are good for him. And this cannot be done through fights and accusations especially in your case, he's pretty immature and he will display his immaturity by making you feel guilt if he had to give up his freedom.
Hence, do something that he will not expect; bring back the spice in the marriage...you know what to do...so go for it! Let him be lured back into your arms and soon his reckless acts will vanish...You can give it a shot and see how things are moving...

All the best!

Relationship
Recently, we had an Arranged Marriage. Before committing for the Marriage, we had a few Months of Courtship Period & got to understand each other well. He seemed to be a very Loving & Caring Person. Once, He asked me whether I was Virgin, I lied saying that I was, because I didn't want to lose such a Wonderful Guy. On our Wedding Night, he got Suspicious as I didn't bleed. Upon further Interrogation, I broke down & confessed the Truth that I had been Sexually Active in my previous Relationships, before getting Married to him. He got Disappointed as he felt Cheated & Betrayed. Since then, he's been sleeping in a seperate Room & not even talking to me properly, there's no Romance between us, at all. He'd also cancelled our Honeymoon Trip to Bali. He comes Home late, often having eaten out, doesn't ask me anything about my Day or even Care about me at all. He's become quite opposite of what he was, during our Courtship Period. Many times, I've tried to break the Ice & build some Chemistry between us, but he told me that he lost all Feelings for me, and he wouldn't even Care if I left him & his House for Good. He was Ready to give me a Divorce, if I wanted to Leave him. But I don't want to throw away this Marriage, I want to try & make it work, but there's no Cooperation at all from his side. He blatantly refused to go for Marriage Counseling with me. In the presence of other Family Members, he tries to act like a normal Husband, just to maintain his image in the Society. But when we both are alone at Home, he acts as if I don't even exist. Now I am getting frustrated, I don't understand what to do? I don't regret all that I did in my Past, I had the Right to Enjoy my Life, when I was Young & Unmarried & I don't owe any Explanation to anyone, about my Past. Now I feel I am being treated too Coldly just for a little White Lie. Did I really do something so Wrong that I don't even deserve to be Loved by the Person, I Married? If it leads to a Divorce, we both have got a lot to lose out on, hence I am trying to avoid the extreme Decision. But I don't have any idea as to how our Marriage can be Repaired & Rejuvenated, when my Husband is not at all interested in the Marriage? Please advise me what to do.
Ans: Dear Anonymous,
If you understand him, your virginity meant a lot to him...that was one of his core beliefs that one preserves their virginity until marriage. Now, he feels cheated as what he believes in has gone against him. It seems very old-fashioned to want the bride to 'bleed' on the first night and conclude that she isn't pure...I get your point, but that are his values...
Can he change and actually look at things differently and save the marriage? YES only if he wants to...he has to commit to it...

For you, the fear of losing him made you hide the fact. Who's right and who isn't? Neither! It's all a matter of the way you look at it; each one will hold their impressions as the truth. So, he's holding onto what he feels is his truth and unwilling to budge and make the marriage work. What can you do? Perhaps apologize for hurting him; he is hurt and angry, isn't it?

It may seem trivial and foolish to you that he gives this so much importance in this day and age. You can't shake people off their beliefs. Anything that you hide eventually comes to bite you; so act wisely...
- talk to him about how you feel about him and the marriage
- tell him what he means to you and why you hid the facts that was most important to him
- lastly apologize to him from your heart

All this may seem 'going over the top' BUT hey, you wish to make the marriage work, right? At times, going that extreme bit can bring back things...So, if there's a 'Feminist' side of you that seems to disagree, keep that at bay for a while and ask: Do I want the marriage?
If YES, then do what it takes...

All the best!

I have two options for my son. B.Tech ECE in Jaypee Noida and B.Tech ECE with Minor in Comp Sc. from VIT Vellore. Which should I prefer basis placement and academic quality?
Ans: Mukul Sir, Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida offers B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering with a 98% placement rate for ECE over the past three years, branch-specific offers at 98% participation by core recruiters, and a median package of ?6.50 LPA from 184 offers to 188 eligible students in 2024, while holding a NIRF Engineering rank of 101–150. VIT Vellore’s B.Tech ECE with a minor in Computer Science enrolls 480 students, achieves overall 68%–72% placement rates in EEE (similar branch metrics), and contributes to the university’s 95% average placements across all engineering disciplines, supported by 867 recruiters and median packages near ?9.90 LPA, with NIRF Engineering rank #11. Jaypee Noida’s focused core-branch recruitment and higher branch-wise participation offer strong ECE outcomes, whereas VIT Vellore provides broader academic depth through a minor, superior institutional ranking, and consistent overall placement density. Recommendation: Opt for Jaypee Noida ECE if prioritizing branch-specific placement strength and core electronics opportunities; choose VIT Vellore ECE with CSE minor for higher institutional ranking, wider recruiter pool, and interdisciplinary skill development.
