What's the fastest way to heal a ligament or tendon injury? I was attending a wedding function where we danced so much. The following day, I could barely fold my legs or put my foot down. The doc said I have a ligament injury. I took some medications but the pain reoccurs at weird times. What should I do?

Ans: Hello anonymous,
Icing for 20 minutes at least twice a day helps a lot.
Resting it out and not putting excessive pressure for 2-3 weeks helps to heal the ligament.
It would be good if you show this to a physiotherapist. At times even just one session of physio can help significantly. Especially taping done by a physio helps to protect the ligament and it heals much faster.

Hello, I am a long distance runner currently struggling with a stubborn achilles tendon injury near the insertion point on my right ankle (back of the heel). Recently, i have also developed pain in both peroneal tendons. Despite multiple physiotherapy sessions, consistent strength training, weeks of rest and anti-inflammatory medication, the pain returns as soon as I resume physical activities whether running or even walking. I am feeling extremely frustrated and would greatly appreciate any advice on how to overcome this persistent issue. Are there alternative treatments, rehab strategies or diagnostic steps I should consider?
Ans: Hello Dinesh,
Are you taking important supplements like Vit d3, Vit B12, Calcium, magnesium or have you done your recent blood work to test all these?
What treatment are they doing in the physiotherapy sessions? Are they doing cupping therapy, dry needling, myofascial release?
For strength training are you doing under guidance and fine tuning your core muscles and mainly hip rotators?
Before walking/running are you doing 10 minutes warm up and post the run a proper 10 minutes of stretches to cool down?
It would be a good to also do a dynamic foot scan to understand how your foot pressures are happening as at times a customized foot wear helps a lot.
You would need an in depth evaluation and proper physiotherapy rehabilitation in a very systematic way.
Which city are you from?
