I am nearing 70 years. My fasting blood sugar for 2023 and 2024 were 110 and 99 and HbA1c was 6.0 each respectively. Kindly advise.

Ans: HbA1c at 6.0 is in the prediabetes range. Prioritize fiber-rich foods such as whole grains, legumes, and vegetables to improve insulin sensitivity. Limit refined carbohydrates like white bread and pastries to prevent blood sugar spikes. Include healthy fats like olive oil, nuts, seeds, and avocado for heart and metabolic health. Opt for lean protein sources (lentils, tofu, Greek yogurt) to balance meals. Stay well hydrated. Exercise regularly including strength training. Regular monitoring is essential.
