Dear Doctor, My son is 12 years of age and slightly obese (weight 55 Kg). He is a bit lazy too when it comes to playing outside or doing any meaningful physical activity. Will there be any delay in reaching puberty because of this? He says most of his friends have developed masculine voice and height has increased dramatically. He compares his growth with other & often points that out to me. Kindly guide me in right direction as I think 12 -15 years is the age range when you hit puberty in boys.

Ans: If your other option is a good B.Tech CSE (for example, at a reputable private or government engineering college), please prefer B.Tech CSE for better immediate placements. If your alternatives are average engineering colleges, and you genuinely enjoy mathematics and are open to higher studies or data-centric careers, then BS-MS Mathematics & Computing is a worthwhile option. Finally, if you do not have options for CSE, then go with MnC @ BIT Patna
