I am a 66 years old retired male.I am doing some yoga like-surya namaskar,pusup 5-5times etc since 6 years.Now I am facing B P and Vertigo.which Yoga I should carry for relief.Thanks.

Ans: At 66, it is good that you are doing yoga regularly. But with BP and vertigo, your practice must be gentle and safe.

First, avoid fast Surya Namaskar and strong push-ups for some time. Sudden bending, fast head movement, and getting up quickly can increase vertigo and BP. Move slowly and with awareness.

You can continue with simple and calm practices:

Neck movements (very slow) – up, down, side to side. Do only within comfort.

Shoulder rotation – gentle circles to reduce tension.

Tadasana (standing tall) – improves balance and posture.

Vajrasana sitting with deep breathing – calms BP.

Anulom Vilom (alternate nostril breathing) – very helpful for BP and mind.

Shavasana – daily relaxation for 10 minutes.

For vertigo, always change position slowly. Keep eyes open when needed. Stay hydrated and do not practice on an empty stomach for long hours.

Most important: do not change your routine on your own. At this age, yoga must be personalized based on BP level and vertigo condition. A trained yoga coach can guide you safely and adjust practices step by step.

Please approach a qualified yoga or meditation coach instead of practicing alone.
