I'm planning on doing my MS in US and my top choice is UCSD (FSU, ASU among others) . My GPA is 8.88 and me IELTS score is 8. I have experience in research (published one paper, another under review). My domain is AI&ML but I'm planning on pursuing general CSE for masters. I have stunning LORs from HODs. What are my chances of getting in? Also what other top colleges can I apply to?

Ans: Hello,

To begin with, thank you for contacting us. I am happy to hear that you intend pursuing your Master’s in Science in the USA. To answer your question first, I would like to tell you that having secured a 8.88 GPA, an impressive score of 8 in the IELTS, research experience with one published paper and one under review, as well as recommendation letters from HODs, you have good chances of securing admission to UCSD and similar respected universities. Your adaptability and dedication to the discipline is demonstrated through your experience with AI and ML combined with your desire to enrol in a more broad Computer Science Engineering (CSE) program. You would be glad to know that research-focused applicants like you are highly valued at UCSD, and your application could be unique from the rest. Concerning your query as to which other top colleges you can apply to, I would like to say that taking into account your profile, universities offering robust programs in CSE and opportunities for AI & ML research, viz., Arizona State University (ASU), Carnegie Mellon University, University of California, Berkeley, and Florida State University (FSU), might be other outstanding choices for your application.

You should bear in mind that several criteria beyond the scope of academics, viz., the calibre of the candidate pool, particular prerequisites for the program, essays, and any other experiences or qualifications you choose to highlight in your application, also play a key role in making admission decisions. Thus, despite your impressive qualifications, I would recommend that you craft a comprehensive application that throws light on your ambitions, enthusiasm, as well as your distinct contributions to the field.

I have received a GRE score of 330. I have a B.Tech and an MBA degree. I have 6 years of work experience out of which 3 years are in finance. I want to persue MS in finance. How good are my chances of cracking the top US colleges like Harvard and MIT?
Ans: Hello. Thank you for connecting with us. As per the information provided by you, our profile definitely presents a strong foundation for pursuing a MS in finance at some of the top universities, like Harvard and MIT. Your GRE score of 330 indicates a commendable level of academic aptitude, and a combination of B.Tech. and an MBA demonstrates a diverse skillset towards your academic excellence. Your six years of work experience with three years in finance bolster your practical understanding of the field, thus contributing significantly to the academic environment. However, let me tell you that admission to Harvard and MIT is highly competitive. Your acceptance will be enhanced if you have signed letters of recommendation, statements of purpose, and alignment of your interests with the faculty. Above all this, extracurricular activities and your active involvement in them matter. To make sure that your application stands out, highlight your unique strengths and experiences, and demonstrate a clear passion for studying further. With diligent preparation and a compelling application, you can certainly have a chance of securing admission in any of the prestigious academic institutions.

This is ritika and I love a boy and we are in relationship since 7 years but there are some behavior of him he always have doubt on me that I am dating another boy he always says that start you screenshare in WhatsApp I even do because I don't want to lose him and he saw all of things of my phone yesterday he again asking for that and I do and there was a tab of instagram which was belongs to my roommate it was her I'd open in my chrome browser where she only wants to delete the I'd which she did from my phone these instagram thing happened approx one year ago but when he saw this I told him that was not mine but he continuously said I am cheater I cheated with him again he was like I know you have two mobile phones and you cheated with me. I love him soo much but he cannot try to accept that . Even I don't talk to my male classmate because he didn't want ki main kisi boy se baat karu Is it fair , am I cheater ? I love him unconditionally I support him in all his career or decision but again he was like I cheated with him we are in long distance relationship but I can't cheat him . Literally I am feeling depressed ????
Ans: Dear Ritika,

Please understand that you did nothing wrong. Why would you even question yourself? You know you never cheated. It's his issue that he cannot trust. Yes, in a relationship we all try to comfort our partners but that too should be to a certain extent. And, in that process, if your mental health is being compromised, I don't see how it's a healthy relationship.

I don't want to tell you what to do, but I would reassure you that YOU DID NOTHING WRONG. You don't need to prove yourself anymore. And I can also assure you that no matter what you do, he will still manage to find some flaws and doubt you. It's a typical behavior we see in some partners. You deserve peace, love, and above all, to be trusted.

Best Wishes.
