Considering a female candidate, the mechanical branch is not suitable. Between the two, I would suggest opting for Civil @ IIT Bombay for a brighter future. The opportunities for a female candidate in civil engineering are robust and expanding, with increasing prospects in government jobs (like IES, PWD, CPWD), private infrastructure companies, urban planning, sustainability, and higher education. Although field roles may still be gender-imbalanced, office-based and design roles are plentiful and inclusive. The final decision will be yours.
