I am 42 and have been doing the night shift for 3 years. I came back home by 330 am and hardly got sleep for 5 to 6 hours. I get up by 9 to 930 am and do hard gym post that and sleep for around 45 mins in the afternoon. I feel I should get sleep of around 7 to 8 hours in one go. I tried everything right from binural music, to lavender aroma to dark room and even sleeping pills but max I got 6 hours of sleep. Please guide me to improve it 7 or 8 hours

Ans: Circadian rhythm works with the day and night and our sleep wake cycle is regulated accordingly. Night duty disturbs this, rhythm. However much one tries to sleep during day, the quality of sleep of what one gets at night along with the natural supporting hormone cannot be matched.
Now having done night shift for 3 yrs, your body must have adopted certain ways. Physiologically the day hormone cortisol tries to keep us, awake which is why you are not able to sleep. But 5-6 hrs of good quality sleep is sufficient and it is the quality and not the quantity of sleep that matters

I m a 47 years old male. I do moderate exercise, jogging 3-4 times a week. my work requires me to sit for 6-8 hours. I have this issue where it does not empty completely in the morning. Having this issue from the last 15-20 years. The first stool is without any effort but then i have to drink tea warm water etc to empty completely in another 1-2 sittings. Triphla, isabgol help at times but dont want to use regularly. I have dinner too at 7 and sleep at 10. I tried having a very light dinner too but it didnt work. Please advice.

Ans: Having the bowel movement within 10mts of waking up in the morning is a good indicator to show that your life forces are good.
Nevertheless, you should not look at the evacuation as in quantity, you must see if there are any discomforts later in the day.
Even if you have your bowels, moved once more in the evening is good enough.
Increase the fibre content in your diet, have adequate water and increase your physical activity

I'm 64 years old male.Last 1+ months I am suffering from dry cough.In the beginning I started Sitopaladi churna,honey, Jeshtimadh(yashtimool sometimes called) but no improvement. For example measure your breath capacity through counting steps for inhalation and exhalation staying within your capacity.
This way you feel so refreshed with your walk and you can slowly increase the the number of steps once you are settled.thereby stretch your distance covered with the same range of breath.
The idea is one should never get breathless at the end.

If Pranayama and walk done at different times, Pranayama invokes Parasympathetic energy whereas walking activates sympathetic system.
So it is better do a walk and Pranayama at different timing. If you want to do both in the morning give a gap of two hours between the walk foolowed by pranayama

I am 50 years old and having farsighted power of +1.5 along with nearsighted power of +2.00 on both the eyes from last 10 years till 6 months back, when last time I got my eyes checked. Recently during health check up, I found than my right eye farsighted vision has changed to (-ve( 0.75 although left eye vision remain unchanged. Nearsighted vision also remain unchanged in both the eyes..After changing my power in the glass , I am feeling little dizziness since last 7 days(seems like balance problem)..What may be the cause? .Also, is the drastic change in right eye power from +ve to -ve can have some underlying reason, which may be something serious?
